SFA Licence

On behalf of everyone at Largs Thistle Football Club, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all our fans, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and partners who have played a part in helping us achieve SFA Licensing standards.
This is perhaps the most significant milestone in the club’s 136 year history, and it simply would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and unwavering support shown by so many people behind the scenes and in the stands.

The loyalty , encouragement and considerable financial backing of our supporters continues to drive the club forward. Almost 100 people made donations via our GoFundme page. Our sponsors and partner’s backing has also been invaluable in helping us reach the standards required. Please visit our Sponsors Page on the website to learn more about these companies who contribute year on year .

We would also like to formally recognise and thank the following contractors and organisations whose direct expertise and support were instrumental in us achieving SFA Licensing standards: –

Stevie Nelson of Nelson Rennie Electrical
Joe McGrath and Dom O’Halloran of NLBS
Algecco Group
The Directors of MP Group UK Ltd
DM Roofing Ltd
Largs Helter Skelter Youth Fund
Kelburne Wind Farm Community Fund
Kenny Little of AH Mackie Ltd
Bryan Martin of Martin & Sons Electrical
Sean Tracey / SIS
Lewis Davidson Plumbing
Roy Provan of Ayr Utd
Energy Savings Trust (EST)

These organisations, companies and individuals generously provided their services and their contribution is greatly appreciated and has played such a vital role in this achievement. Their professionalism, cooperation, and high standards have been crucial in helping the club meet the required criteria, and as such we are extremely grateful for their contributions.

Also let’s not forget our volunteers and committee members whose countless hours of effort and commitment have been instrumental in making this a reality.
We would also like to offer a special thank you to the SFA Licensing Officer Ross McGowan for his guidance, professionalism, and support throughout the process. His assistance was invaluable in helping us meet the necessary standards.

SFA Licensing represents not just the recognition of where we are as a club today, but also builds a strong foundation for the future. It is something we can all be proud of, and it belongs to everyone connected with Largs Thistle. The town at last has the infrastructure to support the team and we should all be extremely proud of this as we welcome you to come out in numbers to cheer on Arnie and the boys to even greater achievements.

As we look ahead, our next objective is clear: to achieve promotion to the new Lowland League West and to build on our recent West Cup & Junior Cup achievements and compete in the senior Scottish Cup next season. This ambition reflects the progress we have made and the standards we are determined to maintain moving forward.

We are also delighted to share that we will be marking this achievement with a series of commemorative events within our newly refurbished pavilion (which also has reached it’s 100 year milestone) , along with the launch of a new special edition club strip which will celebrate this important milestone in our history.

We look forward to welcoming you all to be part of these occasions.
Thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to building on this success together.

Yours sincerely,
Ali McMaster

Chairman on behalf of
Largs Thistle Football Club Management Committee
